Insights, Stories, and Tips for the Inquisitive Mind
Our journey began in the vibrant world of creative arts, a path that has not only shaped us as artists but as leaders, educators, and advocates. Through the arts, we discovered powerful skills — creativity, communication, resilience — that transcend the studio and stage, enriching our lives in education, business, and community leadership. Inspired by our own transformation, we're dedicated to unlocking this potential in others. Our mission is to guide individuals in exploring their creative talents, developing their personal and professional skills, and empowering them to lead and inspire in all aspects of their lives.
Our ethos is simple – everyone has a story to tell, a song to sing, or a dance to share. We believe in the transformative power of the arts to enrich lives and communities. By making arts accessible to all, we aim to foster confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
So, dive in! Explore, learn, and let us know if there's something specific you're curious about. We're here to help, one post at a time.
At BHVA, we often hear the question - How do you do that using the arts?
People wonder how we teach employability skills, coach emotional resilience, or even run corporate training programs when we’re known as “arts teachers.”
Well, today, we’re breaking down exactly how we do it.
Yes, we absolutely teach traditional arts—singing, dancing, drama, and music—through our Amplify department.
But BHVA is much more than that.
We’ve designed our approach to harness the power of the arts and apply it creatively across multiple areas.
The skills and values we teach in the arts - communication, empathy, teamwork, and emotional regulation - are incredibly transferable and impactful in everyday life, business, and community settings.
People often expect every session we run to involve a performance, but that’s not the case.
The arts aren’t about turning our clients into performers - they’re about creating safe, engaging environments where real growth and learning can happen.
Whether it’s in our Arts4Learning sessions in schools or Arts4Health workshops in the community, we use storytelling, movement, and art as entry points to teach essential life skills.
Through arts-based activities, young people learn to listen, communicate, and see things from different perspectives - skills they carry into other areas like school, friendships, and home life.
Our approach isn’t just about having fun; it’s rooted in evidence and research.
For instance, studies show that singing and movement can positively impact brain functionality and even slow deterioration in conditions like dementia and Parkinson’s.
By building a sense of community and using these proven techniques, we help our participants connect, express themselves, and feel a sense of belonging - all through the arts.
Now, here’s where people really start scratching their heads - how do we apply the arts to business coaching and corporate training?
The answer lies in creativity. Businesses need creative thinkers who can approach problems from different angles, manage teams innovatively, and market effectively.
We use our experience as artists and creatives, and business owners, to help business professionals develop these skills through our Academy.
We teach presentation skills and public speaking, but not in the standard ‘here are the rules’ way. Instead, we create engaging experiences where clients learn to think on their feet and apply those skills in their own unique situations.
For example, during a recent workshop on presentation skills, we didn’t just stand at the front and give a set formula. Instead, we facilitated discussions that allowed participants to reflect on their own experiences, build confidence, and develop their own voices - skills that stick far beyond the workshop itself.
Even in our Multiply Your Confidence with Money workshops, where we teach math and money management, we make sure that participants don’t feel like they’re stepping into a typical classroom.
We create an environment where they feel valued, safe, and able to engage with the material in a relaxed, enjoyable way. We use role-play and interactive activities (but in a fun way - no one dreads it!).
By making these sessions creative and engaging, we help people connect with topics they might have struggled with in the past, leading to real transformation.
We use the arts as a powerful tool to engage and transform lives, but it’s the way we do it that makes the difference.
Every session, every workshop, and every program is tailored to the individual needs of our participants.
We believe in creating unique, creative, and supportive environments where people can grow and flourish, no matter the subject.
If you’re curious about how the arts can make a difference in your life - whether that’s building confidence, developing skills, or simply connecting with others - come and join us at BHVA.
Our doors are always open, and there’s a creative approach for everyone. Let’s see how the arts can help you grow, too!
