Insights, Stories, and Tips for the Inquisitive Mind
Our journey began in the vibrant world of creative arts, a path that has not only shaped us as artists but as leaders, educators, and advocates. Through the arts, we discovered powerful skills — creativity, communication, resilience — that transcend the studio and stage, enriching our lives in education, business, and community leadership. Inspired by our own transformation, we're dedicated to unlocking this potential in others. Our mission is to guide individuals in exploring their creative talents, developing their personal and professional skills, and empowering them to lead and inspire in all aspects of their lives.
Our ethos is simple – everyone has a story to tell, a song to sing, or a dance to share. We believe in the transformative power of the arts to enrich lives and communities. By making arts accessible to all, we aim to foster confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
So, dive in! Explore, learn, and let us know if there's something specific you're curious about. We're here to help, one post at a time.

This is the honest version of how it all started.
Because on the outside, it might look like: “Oh, they won an award. They’ve built something successful.”
But that’s not really the story.

We were recently given Female Entrepreneurs of the Year. And if we’re being honest? It made us feel a bit uncomfortable.
Not because we’re not proud … but because it’s that very British thing of not quite knowing how to celebrate it. Also, the award isn’t really about us.
It’s about the people like you who trust us.
The ones who walk through the door.
The ones who take a chance on something that feels different.
That’s what built BHVA.

If you've ever tried to work out what BHVA actually is...
“It’s a place where people can come and be themselves.”
BHVA is a creative arts provision supporting children, young people, adults, and those outside traditional education.
And then they look at us like…
“Yeah, but what does that actually mean?”
Because people expect singing, dancing, jazz hands on a stage.
(And yes… occasionally there are jazz hands. Rarely. But they do happen.)
But that’s not really what we do.
When you come into BHVA, you're met where you are. Not where we think you should be.
That might be 1:1 sessions, Squads, Alternative Provision, Education Other Than At School, or Professional Development.
But the model isn’t the important bit. The person is. We start there. And we build from there.
If you've ever felt judged in learning or creative spaces... this is the bit that matters.
If we had to strip it right back, it’s this:
No judgement.
No judgement on:
where someone is starting
what they find hard
what they want
how long it takes
Because growth doesn’t happen when someone feels watched. It happens when they feel safe enough to try. So when someone walks into BHVA…
They don’t have to perform.
They don’t have to prove anything.
They just get to exist in that moment.
And from there… things start to shift.

Truthfully?
Because we questioned everything. You might recognise this feeling...
We’ve both come from backgrounds where things had to be done the “right” way, there was a way you were supposed to do it and stepping outside that felt risky.
So building BHVA meant doing something different. It meant trusting our ideas. Even when they didn’t look like everyone else’s.
Or as we like to say…
We’ve spent a lot of time in the“naughty corner”.
But that’s where BHVA was built.
We don’t really say: “Anything is possible.”
Instead, we ask:
“What if?”
What if this worked better for that young person?
What if we tried a different approach?
What if we built something that didn’t exist yet?
And then we explore it. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
But either way… we learn. And we keep building.

People sometimes talk about “building a business” like there’s an end point.
You might have felt that too - like you're meant to get to a place where everything is sorted.
We don’t see it like that.
BHVA isn’t finished. It’s always evolving. Because people evolve. Life changes. Needs shift.
So we keep asking - What if… we adapted again?
We say this a lot, and we mean it - it’s a privilege.
To be trusted.
To be part of someone’s journey.
To be the difference for someone when they need it.
We don’t take that lightly. That’s the real reason BHVA exists.
We’ll leave you with this:
What if you trusted your way of doing things… just a little bit more?
Because that’s where this all started for us.
If you're looking for something that feels different...
something that meets you where you are...
you can explore what we do here
or just start a conversation with us.
Breaking barriers. Building confidence.
Your Journey. Your Story.
