The Voice Academy was where it all started for Beccy Hurrell Voice & Arts Limited and our individual tuition, Harmonix group and tutor led sessions have led the way for growth into our other arts academies.
We focus on supporting you with your specific singing goals to help you get the best from your session and most of all have fun. Our Voice Academy sessions focus on evidence-based teaching to deliver a person-centred approach to your learning.
Individual Tuition |
Our individual tuition is perfect for those who need a tailor-made plan based on your goals and aspirations or those who would prefer a 1:1 setting.
We start with a vocal assessment and look to ensure your vocal function is healthy and efficient before developing your toolkit for the singing style you’d like to learn and perform.
Alongside vocal technique we look at artistry and the way to connect to songs to aid your performance and communication. We then delve into how to create harmonies and how to use technology to support your journey.
As your skills develop, we will continue to update your toolkit so you can take the steps you need to achieve your goals.
Sessions start from £25 for half an hour.
If you would love to learn in a group setting our adult Harmonix sessions are perfect for you. Harmonix is far more than a choir – you get to explore and discover your voice for 90 mins each week with a vocal health check and technical exercises to help your skills grow, alongside a supportive community.
No skills needed – if you have never sung before, or you want to gain the confidence to sing with others – these sessions are the perfect group setting with a community feel. We learn everything from chart hits to songs from the stage, all whilst exploring your voice, singing harmonies and most of all having fun.
In between sessions you benefit from access to our membership platform where rehearsal tracks and recap videos from each session are available and our online Facebook group where you can catch up with others from the Harmonix community.
Our Harmonix group have lots of fun, laughs and sometimes even a cheeky drink or two and we arrange regular social meet ups to continue the fun in person.

Sing Squad is a group kids’ class not like any other- a monthly membership which gives you access to weekly videos, year-round learning, rehearsal tracks and supportive online community.
Sing Squad is split in Infants (Reception – Y2), Juniors (y3-Y6) and Seniors (Y7-Y13) to ensure sessions are tailored to the specific age group and vocal development of your child.
During our 45-minute sessions we practise healthy use of the voice through games and songs with lots of fun and laughter. Our children develop in confidence as well as through voice and our sessions give them a platform to create and foster wonderful friendships.
Sing Squad Infants is for children aged 4 to 7 years old. It meets on a Monday at 4.15pm.
Sing Squad Juniors is for children aged 7 to 11 years old. It meets on a Monday at 5.15pm.
Sing Squad Seniors is for young people in secondary school. It meets on a Tuesday at 6.30pm.
If you would love a tutor for your workplace choir or would love to host a one-off workshop then a BHVA tutor is perfect to support you.
We currently have ongoing relationships with Kettering General Hospital with a weekly choir, and Kettering Parkinsons Group with a termly choir.
Get in touch to discuss your requirements and we would be happy to help.
"Online Sing Squad is a ray of sunshine in these unprecedented times. Beccy’s upbeat spirit and positive attitude makes the session really fun and a great focus for my daughter. We’re already looking forward to our next session!"

"I’ve been enjoying Harmonix from the beginning. It’s a great place to have a good sing, be a bit silly and learn all in one place! In these strange and unusual times, I was beginning to miss friends and normality. Thankfully, Beccy was quick to move sessions online and for a few hours on a Sunday evening we can escape. It’s a great way to manage stress and anxiety too and welcome more than ever!"

"Having Beccy teach me is the highlight of my week. My voice is being pushed in all the right places and I am being given the confidence to do things I didn’t think I could. I cannot recommend this lovely lady enough offering her magic and vast knowledge to all ages!"

"Knowing my child can learn to sing with someone like Beccy is really exciting. Not only is she an amazing and experienced musician and teacher, but she cares about good vocal health which is something I think is hugely important – especially in children."

"Beccy Hurrell is a dedicated teacher who is deeply committed to learning new techniques and strategies for teaching. She is committed to education and is passionate about access to education. Her students quite rightly adore her as she is warm, empathetic and nurturing."
Debbie W –Director of Voice Workshop
"Beccy is such a great role model for young women. She is a fantastic teacher and academic. Would highly recommend!"
Stephen K – Founder of Voice Care Centre
"We have been so pleased to see the progress our daughter has made with Beccy and the variety of techniques that she uses. To see how her confidence has grown where she is able to question and discuss with Beccy about how she feels on certain exercises and how she will embrace those that also fall outside her comfort zone. It is a real partnership in every sense and the learning book used each week is a fantastic tool that makes the student take time to reflect on their week and practice."
