BHVA’s Arts4Wellbeing programme provides emotional health and wellbeing workshops to children and adults. These programmes can be through our Academies Squads programmes, or are bespoke workshops for schools and workplace teams.
Utilising the arts to break down barriers, we help to improve self-esteem, confidence, resilience, whilst reducing anxiety and depression. The statistics are compelling – according to Arts Council 2021:
Squad Sponsorship |
Support a child to develop communication skills, foster friendships, build confidence, and have access to something they may not be able to access.
The cost of living is increasing, and the children who are likely to benefit most from our Squads are the ones whose families are likely to be unable to afford it. For the small cost of £210 a year, you can sponsor a child to attend one of our Academy Squads. In return you will get access to a supporter badge you can use on your website, social media, and signatures.
As we come out of the pandemic we are seeing the adverse impact it has had on childrens’ social skills, mental health, and language development.
Schools are struggling with resources, time and money to help children develop the tools to improve their resilience and gain the social skills they have missed out on for two years.
For £1,140 you can support 300-400 pupils (depending on the school size) by providing them with two workshops over the course of an academic year. These workshops will be run by qualified and experienced arts and education teachers. Students will come away with techniques for managing anxiety, emotion regulation, communication and socialisation skills. Alongside this the school will be given a resource sheet that can be refered to during PSHE sessions by teachers.
If there is a particular school in your local area you would like to support, you can request this and we will do our best to partner you up.
In return you will get a supporter badge you can use on your website, social media, email signatures. We will also provide a PR pack for use, and include you on our social media scheduling. Feedback from the school will also be provided to you after each session conducted.

CIPD’s Health and Wellbeing at Work survey report found that over two thirds of organisations are concerned about the impact the pandemic has had on their staff.
Looking after staff’s wellbeing and mental health can improve productivity and engagement, reduce absenteeism, and increase resilience.
BHVA’s Arts4Wellbeing workshops for employees give you the option of a half day or full day workshop covering the following:
Workshops start from £397, for a half day workshop, and are delivered by qualified and experienced tutors.
"Online Sing Squad is a ray of sunshine in these unprecedented times. Beccy’s upbeat spirit and positive attitude makes the session really fun and a great focus for my daughter. We’re already looking forward to our next session!"
Nicola M
"I’ve been enjoying Harmonix from the beginning. It’s a great place to have a good sing, be a bit silly and learn all in one place! In these strange and unusual times, I was beginning to miss friends and normality. Thankfully, Beccy was quick to move sessions online and for a few hours on a Sunday evening we can escape. It’s a great way to manage stress and anxiety too and welcome more than ever!"
Rhiannon F
"Having Beccy teach me is the highlight of my week. My voice is being pushed in all the right places and I am being given the confidence to do things I didn’t think I could. I cannot recommend this lovely lady enough offering her magic and vast knowledge to all ages!"
Kirsty R
"Knowing my child can learn to sing with someone like Beccy is really exciting. Not only is she an amazing and experienced musician and teacher, but she cares about good vocal health which is something I think is hugely important – especially in children."
Kirsty R
"Beccy Hurrell is a dedicated teacher who is deeply committed to learning new techniques and strategies for teaching. She is committed to education and is passionate about access to education. Her students quite rightly adore her as she is warm, empathetic and nurturing."
Debbie W –Director of Voice Workshop
"Beccy is such a great role model for young women. She is a fantastic teacher and academic. Would highly recommend!"
Stephen K – Founder of Voice Care Centre
"We have been so pleased to see the progress our daughter has made with Beccy and the variety of techniques that she uses. To see how her confidence has grown where she is able to question and discuss with Beccy about how she feels on certain exercises and how she will embrace those that also fall outside her comfort zone. It is a real partnership in every sense and the learning book used each week is a fantastic tool that makes the student take time to reflect on their week and practice."

All sessions are back in person but you have the option to join online as we embrace hybrid working.
Following our risk assessments our studios are cleaned and ventilated after every session.
